About us
Penhaligon Pets was established in 2005 by Theresa Oakes (Oakemorton Weims). Since May 2008 Penhaligon Pets is being run by Liz Lester with the occasional help from husband Phil.
My love of Weimaraners started from a very young age, so early in fact that I cannot recall how I ever saw one or knew about the breed – from childhood it was my dream, to eventually own one. At 33yrs my dream came true, recently married, own home with large garden was exciting enough but never mind new carpet or furniture, first stop James & Christine Bunting – Derbyshire to choose a new puppy. Tuesday 16th May 2006 at approx 3pm marked the arrival of ‘Duke’ (Valleysown Jack in a Box). Nine weeks later we collected our bundle of joy.
Duke changed our lives from the moment he set paw in his new home. We had researched the breed for so long and can honestly say he has exceeded any dreams and expectations we may have had. There isn’t a day that goes by when he doesn’t make us laugh, and gone are the days of being able to open a bag that rustles without having a shadow appear within seconds.
Two years later we were offered an excellent opportunity to become the proud new owners of Penhaligon Pets, as a customer myself I jumped at the chance and here we are Liz, family and our furry owners Duke and Kaiser all striving to provide you, fellow Weimaraner owners, with quality products from all around the world, for all occasions.
We also had the honour of having a Trade Stand at Crufts for the first time in March 2009 and loved every moment of it especially meeting fellow Weimaraner owners and customers. We hope you will come and visit ‘Weimaraner Gifts’ next year at Crufts.
This brings me on to the newest chapter in the life of Dukes household. Friday 7th August 2009 marked the arrival of ‘Kaiser’ (Feldhund Argyros) into the world – since mid October he is our latest addition and is Dukes half brother (same Sire). The boys are keeping us very busy with their antics.
